What we do
drop-ins, counselling, choir and events
DROP-INS
OUR DROP-INS CURRENTLY RUN ONLINE.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we are currently running virtual drop-ins.
These take place online and require an internet connection in order to access these group sessions.
We are also offering one-to-one sessions.
The virtual drop-ins take place on:
Tuesdays : 11am – 12 noon
Fridays : 10:30am – 11:30am
Sundays : 2pm – 3pm
Please contact us if you would like to join our online drop-ins.
Comments from members of Space who have attended our regular drop-ins:
- It provides me with a lot of company
- A place to go when you are feeling alone
- I come to all 3 weekly drop-ins (at St Mary’s Church). They give rhythm and structure to my week. I feel happier when I leave
- Space helps me to get rid of my boredom. It has given me the confidence to become a befriender for Mind and do other volunteer jobs
COUNSELLING
WE ARE CURRENTLY OFFERING COUNSELLING VIA TELEPHONE OR VIDEO CALL.
- Counselling is an opportunity to work one to one on a weekly basis on life issues that make our daily journey difficult.
- It’s often difficult talking to friends or family about the things that trouble us most. A counsellor can empower you to overcome your difficulties and give you space to express yourself.
- Counselling can also be a place to accept the things we cannot change.
- Our counsellors are all fully qualified or well into their training. All counsellors are members of BACP and receive supervision from qualified supervisors.
- Space is an excellent service, very valuable and much needed. It helped to have someone caring to talk to. I’m grateful for a lot of support
- It feels like an air-pocket, a light-house, an oasis. It’s the only space where i feel being loved unconditionally, where my mind and soul are nourished, where i get to know my own humility and others. It is my most effective ‘anti-depressant’ without the harmful side effects. Life without Space? It would feel like being ‘homeless’
- Counselling is a time to release how you feel if you don’t have someone else to talk to
CHOIR
The Space choir started in 2017. We call ourselves ‘Voices in Harmony’. No previous experience of singing required and no auditions.
Research shows singing improves health and happiness. It also helps create community, increases confidence and is all round good fun.

EVENTS
We hold a variety of fundraisers throughout the year. You can find regular updates on this site, see our calendar or our Facebook page.
Please contact us if you can help raise funds.
WE ARE BUSIER THAN EVER AND FINDING DIFFERENT WAYS TO RAISE FUNDS.
SHORT WALK GROUP
OUR SHORT WALKS GROUP WILL RESTART WHEN IT IS APPROPRIATE TO DO SO.
Every Monday morning we take a short walk around Aylesbury. The walk lasts approximately 2 hours, including a refreshment break.
The group is open to anyone who would like to join us for a leisurely stroll.
Our walking group is now running again, split into groups of no more than 6 people.

art
We are currently running an online art group but will move to on-site sessions when able to do so. The homepage for our art group is here. Beginners welcome!
In the mean time, Space members continue to create works of art, including adult colouring, which can be found on our online gallery.
OUR ART GROUP CURRENTLY RUNS ONLINE.
WE WILL RESUME OUR ADULT COLOURING GROUP WHEN APPROPRIATE.
